AK VEGAN
We are vegan students who stand up against the exploitation of animals. On & off campus, we network and plan actions and events.
This is the place to bring in your ideas, whether you’re actively involved in the working group or just tagging along. Everyone is welcome! The more of us there are, the more we can achieve!
What Do We Do?
We meet regularly for a vegan lunch. In the summer semester we have picnics on the Wöhrder Wiese, in the winter semester we eat together at the cafeteria. Among other things, we also do educational work on animal exploitation & veganism at Ohm, organize trips to animal sanctuaries, and bake vegan cakes & waffles to raise donations. To achieve even more, we’re also connected with animal rights organizations outside the university and take part in larger events & actions.
Ohm and Vegan?
As a first stop, the Mensateria and the Mensa Insel Schütt at Kesslerplatz always have at least one vegan main dish to choose from. These are labeled GRÜNWERK and are always vegan.
At Bahnhofstraße, the BistrOHM also has vegan spreads.

About Us
Veganism
Veganism is the moral principle that humans should live without exploiting and abusing other animals. This applies to all areas of life (food, clothing, cosmetics, leisure, etc.). We stand up for the rights of all living beings!
Actions
Cow's milk is breast milk. We do public outreach and educational work to break down prejudices against veganism and to show why people should live without exploiting other animals.
Events
To strengthen our vegan community and connect with each other, we organize regular events like our shared lunches and often plan bigger events, such as trips or exchange meetups.
