Senate
The Senate is one of the highest bodies of the university. Student members are democratically elected through the university elections and thereby gain a voice in many important decisions.
These include appointments to professorships, approval of new examination regulations, and special arrangements such as those made during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many topics have already been discussed in advance in the Expert Committee on Teaching and Studies. As students, you can be the deciding factor in votes — but you should also have strong argumentative skills to convince other members.
Worth knowing:
- You are allowed to attend any trial lecture if you wish
- Due to your direct election, you are accountable only to yourself and not bound by instructions from e.g. the StuPa
